As we close out the year, I thought I would share a countdown of the twelve most popular Fox in the Kitchen recipes from Twenty-Twelve…
To start things off, the twelfth most popular Fox in the Kitchen recipe in Twenty Twelve, was for a Caramelized French Onion Dip. A simply delicious healthier gluten free version of the popular Onion Soup Mix Dip I remember from every party I ever attended when I was younger.
In the eleventh spot is a recipe I call the Cabbage Un-Roll Casserole. It has the taste of a traditional comfort food without the extra fuss of rolling the filling in cabbage leaves.
Recipe number ten…who wouldn’t love a fresh homemade Marinara Sauce? This Fresh Tomato Marinara Sauce was a perfect way to use up an abundant tomato crop. I had 10 pounds of tomatoes from my dad’s garden and made a huge batch of Marinara Sauce. Divided and frozen in serving size portions, for us to enjoy over the fall and winter months.
Number nine is a tasty Thai Red Curry Carrot Soup. Quick, easy and oh so delicious!
Recipe number eight on the twenty-twelve list of favourites is for Homemade Ginger Ale. I credit this flavourful, healthy beverage with helping me break an unhealthy sugary soft drink addiction.
Number seven on the list is a Starbucks inspired Chai Tea Frappe. Made with Coco Chai Rooibos from DAVIDs Tea, I enjoy this refreshing caffeine free beverage year round.
Number six is a Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole. A creamy chicken and rice casserole inspired by a picture on Pinterest. One of the things I love about this recipe is that it freezes well. I always make more than we need so I’ll have extra to tuck away in the freezer for another day.
The fifth most popular recipe is No-Bake Chocolate Coconut Pecan Bars Easy + No-Bake + Chocolate + Pecan + Coconut = YES Please! This is one of the easiest and yummiest recipes posted on the blog.
Spot number four belongs to a tutorial for making Handcrafted Chai Spice Mix. I always have a jar of this spice mix in my pantry. I go through a lot of it. My favourite use for Chai spices, is in a Roasted Pumpkin Chai Smoothie.
The third most popular Fox Kitchen recipe is my Flourless White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies It’s no surprise to me that people love this white chocolate, nutty extravaganza! I love, love, love these cookies!!
Number two, is a Crustless Quinoa Veggie Pie This is a nutritious, easy to prepare egg and vegetable dish. It’s sort of like a Quiche without the crust.
Finally, in the number one spot, the Fox in the Kitchen recipe with the most views in 2012 was…Slow Roasted Pork Chops with Caramelized Onions. The popularity of this recipe amazes me. A day does not go by without this recipe making it to the top of my most viewed posts list. This dish is just as popular here in the Fox Kitchen. In fact I think I will make it for dinner tonight.
Thank you for joining me here in the Fox Kitchen. Let’s all let out a shout of joy as we welcome the new year…Twenty-Thirteen! There will be lots of new gluten free recipes to look forward to from the Fox Kitchen. See you soon.
Happy New Year!
